Simplebot Dance:

I decided to make this fellow jam to the song, “Mambo No.5.” I took a 3D rigging class which was fascinating and extremely difficult. I like to know the basics of as much as I can, so I’m glad that I learned how to rig a model but boy was it hard. I’m a 2D animator and storyboard artist but once we got to the spline portion of the rigging lecture, I was gone. Want me to rig a simple character made of geometric shapes and no spline needed? I got you covered. As much as I didn’t understand splines, I still got them to work. The one part of the process that I did not enjoy at all was skin weighting. To all 3D riggers, I commend you.

Steampunk garden witch environment:

I modeled, textured, and rendered this workshop environment for a steampunk garden witch. This took 2.5 months to make and throughout the time, I had fun and worked in Maya. I’m not a modeler so learning how to model a whole environment was difficult yet intriguing to me. “You didn’t have to spend eight hours on this. Maya has a button for that,” was the motif throughout my time working on this project. I learned a lot.
